Meet Dr. Erik Stancofski

The career of Dr. Erik Stancofski spans medical education, private practice, hospital leadership, and decades of hands-on surgical care.

Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Stancofski completed both undergraduate and medical education at the American University of Beirut. He later continued his surgical training in the United States, completing a General Surgery residency at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore.

He eventually established his career in Lewes, Delaware, where he has practiced since 1998.

Professional Career

After arriving in Lewes, Dr. Stancofski joined Lewes Surgical Associates as a general surgery attending.

In 2000, he co-founded Cape Surgical Associates, where he spent many years treating patients and participating in the operation of a busy surgical practice.

Dr. Stancofski later joined the medical staff at Beebe, continuing his work in general surgery and taking on additional responsibilities within the Department of Surgery.

His professional experience has given him perspective not only on performing procedures, but also on the broader responsibilities involved in surgical care, communication, recovery, and long-term patient outcomes.
